The Walter W. Hodge Papers consist of a resume for Walter W. Hodge (1948); a photocopy of a field book/diary kept by Hodge in May and June of 1942 while on a reconnaissance expedition from Whitehorse, Yukon, to Mt. Scottie on the U.S. Canadian border and then to Northway airfield, Alaska, in connection with construction of the Alaska Highway; a photocopy of a photograph album relating to Hodge's work for the Alaska Road Commission (1932-34) and the Panama Canal Department (1938-40); digital print copies of the 341 photographs in that album; and an additional 219 photographs, primarily of Hodge's work as executive officer in charge of construction of 300 miles of the Alaska Highway (1941-42), but also including a few images from Hodge's time as regimental commander in charge of airfield construction in the Aleutian Islands (1942-44).
